Synopsis

YET TO RULE is a surrealist drama about a 40-year-old criminal court judge with a dying father, an unhappy marriage and petty cases to solve, shown as struggle between ANDI, the animal within, and K, his rational side.

Director’s Bio

Mihaela Popescu began her career in cinema as an associate producer for the film Periferic (Outbound), directed by Bogdan George Apetri. Her first short film project, Plimbare (The Walk), had its international premiere at the prestigious Locarno International Film Festival and was subsequently selected for numerous festival sections, including FIFF Namur, Brussels, Slamdance, Transilvania IFF, Ankara IFF, and Making Waves (New York).

While developing the film În pronunțare (Yet to Rule), Mihaela Popescu created a short documentary about gun violence in Chicago, On Another Corner, which had its international premiere in 2017 at the 60th edition of DOK Leipzig. She is currently working on her first feature documentary, The Living Bridge, which aims to provide insight into how Brexit is affecting the lives of European Union citizens living in the United Kingdom.
