Synopsis
A charming old lady has to leave her home because her family can’t take care of her anymore. On the way to the elderly care home, a shadow of guilt starts to cover the bright sunny day.
Director’s Bio
Andrei Ștefan Răuțu had his first hands-on experience with film directing, during an 8 weeks “Filmmaking Certificate” program, at New York Film Academy(2011-2012). In 2013, he released his first short fiction film, “Ela, Panda and Madame”, which offered him the chance to participate at various international film festivals. Between 2013 and 2016 he studies film directing at the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L Caragiale”. Through an Erasmus Scholarship he makes a short documentary, “Back to the Roots”, nominated for the “Gopo Awards” in 2015. In the summer of 2016, in Chengdu, he directs, shoots and edit “Chasing Dao”, a short documentary produced by “Looking China” Association. After three weeks spent in China, he comes back to Romania and “Samurai Fantasy”, an experimental film that he made in Portugal, wins the “best experimental film award” at “Filmul de Piatra”. In 2018, he participates at “Aristoteles Workshop”, where he makes “See you Soon”, a short documentary that was screened at Centre Pompidou, in Paris, during the “Cinema Du Reel” Film Festival.
Director’s Note
This project was born out of love and frustration.
I wanted to explore the consequences that our decisions have in our family life. Each decision, no matter its difficulty, can evoke both quiet and disquiet. What If darkness would disguise in lightness and vice versa?
